FAIRFAX, VA – Donna (Long) Gobely Vogelhuber, 98, formerly of Salem and Alliance, OH, Falls Church, VA, and Sebring, FL, died Saturday, August 6 at her apartment in Fairfax, VA. She was born on December 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Earl F. and E. Marie (Judge) Long.

Donna graduated from Alliance High School in 1942 and was briefly employed at Morgan Engineering at Alliance. She has been a wonderful mother and homemaker for most of her life.

His survivors include sons, Larry Gobely (Gladys) of Millington, MD, Kennard Gobely of Clear Brook, VA; daughters, Karen Gobely Beatty (Jay) of Herndon, VA and Sharon Vogelhuber Hankinson (Les) of Fort Worth, TX; grandsons, Eric Hankinson of San Francisco, CA, Ryan Hankinson (Kathryn) of Fort Worth, TX, Justin Hankinson (Kim) of Chicago, IL, Travis Beatty (Jennifer) of Herndon, VA, Lawrence Gobely (Melissa) of Chestertown , MD , and Christopher Gobely of Chestertown, MD; granddaughter, Amber Davis (Justin) of Bowling Green, KY and eight great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews in California, Maryland, Ohio and Texas.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Dwight Gobely and her second husband, George Vogelhuber, Jr., and daughter, Lynne Gobely Wakefield.

Friends and family will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 19 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem Ohio.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday August 20 at the funeral home with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Salem after the service. A reception will be held after the interment at the funeral home, where all are welcome.

We would like to thank the staff at the Virginian Retirement and Assisted Living Facility for all the care provided to our mother. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
