Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes Winner Smile Happy

With 12 weeks to go before the Kentucky Derby, the pari-mutuel betting ground of “All the other 3-year-olds” closed as a 2-1 favorite in Pool 3 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) and smile of happiness was the bet pick of 8-1 seconds.

Smile Happy, the $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) 3¼ length winner at Churchill Downs in November, also closed as an 8-1 individual favorite in KDFW Pools 1 and 2 in November and January .

Other horses that have caught the eye of punters include Saturday winner Sam F. Davis (G3) Classic pavement (13-1); Remsen (G2) winner and Holy Bull (G3) third Mo Donegal (14-1); undefeated First Tier Allocation winner Immanuel (15-1); Winner Holy Bull (G3) white shelter (18-1); Winner of San Vicente (G2) forbidden kingdom (18-1): Withers (G3) winner Early voting (19-1); and Breeders’ Futurity (G1) winner Rattle N Roll.

The total handle for the KDFW pool from February 11-13 – the third of five betting pools scheduled ahead of the 148th running of the $3 million Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (GI) on Saturday May 7 – was $328,461 ($235,012 in the Win at Pool and $93,448 in Exactas).

The dates for the remaining future Kentucky Derby 2022 pools are March 11-13 (Pool 4) and March 31-April 2 (Pool 5). The only Longines Kentucky Oaks Future Wager will coincide with KDFW Pool 4 from March 11-13.
