Hunters Crossing Neighborhood Association presents check for $2,500 from Woodburn Fire Department fundraiser

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – The Hunters Crossing Neighborhood Association presented a check for $2,500 to the Woodburn Fire Department Tuesday night.

According to a Facebook post made by the HCNA, the proceeds are from the WFD HCNA 2022 fundraiser and will go towards the purchase of a 3M Scott V320 thermal imager.

Today’s firefighters operate in extreme conditions where temperatures can rise quickly and visibility is reduced in seconds. The conditions in these environments can put firefighters in situations where their safety is compromised, and they must have a full understanding of the environment.

“A HUGE thank you to all of our Hunters Crossing families and others who helped make this possible,” said a post on the HCNA Facebook page.

For the WFD, having this type of equipment will provide them with critical information and the ability to make better decisions in extreme conditions. It will also help firefighters see through smoke, find people and localized fire hotspots.

The check was presented to the Woodburn Fire Department by the HCNA, Warren County Executive Judge Mike Buchanon, Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower and Magistrate Ron Cummings.

The HCNA also mentioned a special thank you to its sponsor, Bluegrass Signs of BG LLC.

Fundraising began on June 1 and continued on June 15.
