Launch of the Jagged Little Pill Broadway Tour from Louisville

For the first time, a Broadway show will kick off its tour outside of Louisville.

PNC Broadway in Louisville, in partnership with Kentucky Performing Arts, has announced the upcoming Louisville premiere of “Jagged Little Pill,” which will take place at the Kentucky Center on August 31 and September 1. Tickets for both performances of the Tony and Grammy award-winning production go on sale July 27.

The show is inspired by the landmark rock album of the same name by seven-time Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette. Directed by Tony Award-winning Diane Paulus (“Waitress,” “Pippin”), “Jagged Little Pill” is about a perfectly flawed American family. The Hollywood Reporter called it “electrifying, visceral and jaw-dropping.”

“We are so fortunate to have our amazing partners, PNC Broadway in Louisville, who bring Broadway’s most exciting shows right here to our own backyard,” said Kim Baker, President and CEO of Kentucky Performing. Arts. “Working together we were able to attract the launch of the ‘Jagged Little Pill’ tour, providing the opportunity to shine the national spotlight on the Commonwealth.”

Leslie Broecker, president of PNC Broadway in Louisville, said the Kentucky Center was “instrumental” in making this opportunity a reality.

“Jagged Little Pill” opened on Broadway on December 5, 2019. Prior to Broadway, the show broke all-time sold-out records at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts. ART’s premiere marked the longest-running and highest-grossing production in the theater’s history. “Jagged Little Pill” wrapped up its Broadway run on December 17, 2021 and kicked off an Australian tour later that month.
